Bottomless Mimosa Guide: Sunny Spot

We were so hung over when we arrived here.

Saturday had been a  day-long booze-fest at the Rennie Pleasure Faire, so by Sunday the thought of alcohol was just painful. But alas, it was a good friend’s birthday, and so we sacked it up and headed to Sunny Spot for a boozy birthday brunch.

Fast forward to one hour, and countless mimosas later, and we’d totally forgotten about those pesky headaches and had thoroughly acclimated to our bright and colorful surroundings. So the music was a little loud, and the crowd a bit cooler than us, but the waitress rocked our socks off with her refill speed and perky demeanor.

Fast forward to three hours later (yes, they let us continue searching for the bottom of our glasses for this long!), and the music seemed just the right decibel and we were in love. Sunny Spot – you have won our brunching hearts. (And that ropa vieja? errrr-my-gerrrrrrrd, so good.)

Brunching Spot: Sunny Spot, Venice

Boozy Brunch Hours: Sat & Sun, 9:30am – 4pm

Bottomless Mimosa Deal: $15 Bottomless Mimosas, Bloody Marys, and Sunny Rum Punch (and yes, you can mix and match!)

Menu Highlights: the aforementioned Ropa Vieja is outstanding. We also tried the hangover plate and mofongo & eggs, which were both pretty good. But if we go back, its going to be for that saucy spicy pork.

Bottomless Mimosa Guide: Joe’s

2016: Joe’s is sadly closed :/

This one will get you boozing a day earlier than normal (as though Sunday binging is normal…)

via latitude33

The Spot: Joe’s in Venice

Brunching Hours: Saturday & Sunday , 11am – 2:30pm

Bottomless Deal: $14 Bottomless Mimosas or Hibiscus w/ Entree Purchase

Menu Highlights: Butter Biscuits and Sausage Gravy sounds like the perfect hearty & greasy combo to balance out all that bubbly. Maryland Blue Crab Hash with Soft Poached eggs also sounds worthy of our stomachs. On the sweeter side there are pecan pancakes and apple+walnut french toast, simple and yet that’s exactly what makes them sound fantastic.

Post Boozy Brunch Recommendations: Rent bikes and shakily ride your way up and down the boardwalk. Just watch out for all the weirdos, wouldn’t want to hit one and get a BUI.

Bottomless Mimosa Guide: Primitivo

2016: Primitivo is now closed for good.

A Sunday Funday Brunch that involves not only delicious plates of food, bottomless booze (of two varieties) but also LIVE MUSIC?

Count us in.

Every Saturday &  Sunday from 11am-3pm Primitivo in Venice hosts brunch on their patio. The menu (available here) features a nice mix of breakfast and lunch items  (just as brunch should) all around $10-$18 a pop. The items on the cheaper side are more breakfast oriented (scrambled ricotta-chive eggs, strawberry french toast, carmelized leak and onion bread pudding), while the items on the pricier side tend to be heavier and more lunch/linner focused (steak frites, paella, salmon with apple smoked bacon crust… yum…)

Our draw here of course is not the food, but rather the bottomless mimosas or sangria available for $20 per person.

Oh yeah, and we dig that there is live music. A little ambiance for our Sunday drinking+eating shenanigans is always a good thing.

Bottomless Mimosa Guide: Hotel Erwin

TGIF! There is no better way to celebrate a long weekend than with unlimited booze, and this week we have a brand new mimosa spot!  Just in time for summer, Hotel Erwin in Venice is introducing a bottomless brunch starting this Sunday!  I love exclamation marks today!!!   !!!  We stopped by Hotel Erwin last weekend during our epic Venice/SM bike-bar-crawl and although the weather was a little chilly last Saturday, when it is warm this is a great rooftop drinking destination — boozing + beach + amazing views.

Starting this Sunday and every Sunday on from 11a-3p, the rooftop bar at Hotel Erwin, High, will have bottomless mimosas, bloody marys, AND beer!  I’m not really sure beer would be the best option to choose when going bottomless if you’re like me and get full after 2 glasses.  You can enjoy bottomless boozing at High for $29.99, w/ purchase of Appetizer.  Pretty good deal!

A great way to spend a Sunday especially when you don’t have work the following day.  Keep your Sunday Funday going after brunch by renting some beach cruisers at J’s and stopping at bars along the beach.  Just be wary of getting into arm wrestling matches with locals who play pool at On the Waterfront…they don’t take defeat well.

YAY long weekend! Time to get drunk and fat 🙂
