Tuesdays @ Five0Four Hollywood

What’s better than a $5 Beer? Well, probably lots of things. But what’s better than a $5 Beer WITH a shot? For boozers like us, probably not much. Add a smoke into this $5 deal and you’ve got the perfect recipe for a short, but fun, life!

Every Tuesday, from 8pm – 2am Five0Four offers a $5 Beer+Shot+Smoke combo.

Not fans of smoking (like us!)? You can swap out that cancer stick for a condom instead! Just be careful, beer goggles + free condoms could be a regrettable combo.

Love the deal, but want to start your boozing/smoking/banging before 8pm? Show up for Five0Four’s own Happy Hour that lasts til 8pm (i.e. right up until the Tuesday $5 Beer+Shot+Smoke deal starts… i.e. no break in cheap drinks!)

Five0Four Happy Hour: ‘Drinkin with Lincoln’

Mon – Fri, 3pm – 8pm

$5 Drinks (Daiquiris, Mimosas, Bloody Marys, & Wells)

$5 Foods (1/2 Chicken or Po’Boys, Beer Bites, Sweet Potater-tots, Dirty Fries, Hot Wings, & Cajun Fries)

This is probably the only happy hour we’re aware of with Cajun style food, and we’re already eager to try it. Plus, you really can’t beat anything with a Lincoln theme, right?!?!?! (Friends, you may start your K+Lincoln jokes now.)

Alcohol, TVs, & Outdoor Patio. Must Be Heaven.

On top of all this cheap boozy awesomeness, Five0Four has other great weekday events & deals as well:

Mondays: 80s night, dress up and get a free drink!

Wednesdays: SIN Night, Reverse Happy Hour 8pm – 12am

Thursdays: $1 test tube shots all night long, 8pm – 2am

Sundays: Live Jazz Music 6pm – 9pm

Wow, that’s a lot of days with a lot of hours of cheap booze. AND there’s an outdoor patio. Love it.

The Park’s $15 Tuesday Prix Fixe

Another delicious and absurdly inexpensive Tuesday night dinner deal, this time for our Eastsiders:

The Park’s “SpeakEasy Tuesdays” 3-Course Dinner: $15

Not much else needed to describe this deal: it’s just $15 for 3 courses and includes a starter (soup or salad), an entree, and a dessert. Plus, the menu changes weekly so there is always something new to try. And it’s only $15… for 3 courses…

Photo by Alen Lin via la.eater.com

This Week’s Menu:

1st Course (Choose One)

Soup (Vegetarian Borscht w/ Yogurt)

– Salad (Shaved Celery Root, Fennel, Radish & Romaine w/ Horseradish Sour Cream Dressing)

2nd Course/Main (Choose One)

– Chicken Schnitzel, w/ Lemon Caper Sauce, Broccoli & Mashed Potatoes

– Mushroom Risotto, w/ Parmesan, Thyme & Arugula

3rd Course/Dessert

– Cheese Blintzes w/ Strawberry Sauce

For those unfamiliar with the dining destinations of Hipsterville (it’s pretty uncharted territory for us as well): The Park is in Echo Park (hence the name) and has other great deals during the week, including Friday Supper Club ($20 for 3 course selection from regular menu) and Wednesday Burger Night ($5 – 6oz Burgers w/ Choice of Side.)

For those that cannot enjoy a meal without a bit of a buzz – the booze is cheap too. Wines start at $6/glass ($20/a bottle!!) and beers at $5. Despite the fact that we are trying to save our selves (i.e. our livers) for tomorrow’s The Sexy Singles Soiree & Saturday’s CHRISTMAS KEGGER – we may just have to have a lady date tonight, split a bottle of wine & scarf down yet another multi-course meal. This blog’s tag line has really become a self fulfilling prophecy…

Tuesday Night Suppers @ Shangri La

We really love prix fixe meals – they are almost always a great deal and they are a good option for checking out a place you have wanted to try in a way that lets you get a full meal without breaking the bank.  Plus, they usually include dessert – my favorite part of any meal.

We have written up some pretty great prix fixe meal options that are out there (Della Terra’s Tuesday night $16 meals, Sunday Suppers at Cecconi’s), and here is yet another one that we think is worth checking out: Tuesday Night Suppers @ Hotel Shangri-La in Santa Monica.

Every Tuesday night, from 5-10pm, you can get a $15 3-course meal at Shangri-La.  And if you want a pour of wine with your meal, it’s only another $5 for a glass!  The menu every Tuesday is the same (for now): salad, Coq au Vin, and mixed berry cobbler for dessert.

So check it out tonight if you are looking for something new to do.  You can make reservations on the hotel’s website or via phone.  And stick around post-dinner for some more boozing with Shangri-La’s 777 menu – 7 cocktails (and 7 appetizers if you’re still hungry..) for $7 every night from 9p-12a.

Half Off at SBE’s CLEO

Love this deal from SBE…

V hit up Cleo the other week with some friends and found it to be quite lovely (she  recommends the shrimp kebabs and the flat bread.) And although I have yet to enjoy the wonders of Cleo’s Mediterranean cuisine, I’m already a fan of the SBE owned hotel it sits in (The Redbury) due to its eclectic and fun style (much more ‘habitable’ in my opinion than its cold & stark Starck created sibling the SLS.) So I must imagine the decor at Cleo is equally appealing.

Luckily for you, we have a couple ‘special contacts’ within the SBE regime so we were able to score the details on this deal for you (Thanks NF!) so just click on the photo and print it out for your next Sunday – Wednesday dinner visit.

With all the money you save you can definitely spring on a bottle, or two, of wine. (Hurry up – it expires Oct 13th!!)

Della Terra Tuesday $15 Dinner Deal

Here’s a great way to get fat + drunk tonight at an adorable restaurant in the Mid-City area:

Della Terra: Tuesday Night Supper: 3-Courses, $15

* Includes:  Salad +  Entree + Dessert

The 3-course menu offerings change weekly so call ahead for reservations & to find out what the week’s featured meal will be (Tonight’s supper includes a house salad, filet skewers, and cannoli). From our own various visits we’ve come to find the food is delicious & every dinner deal we have enjoyed was welllllll worth the tiny $15 price tag.

Also – for those who require some lubricant to their dinner conversations – select glasses of wine are just $6 and beers on tap are just $4 on Tuesdays!

The place is already a great deal in a cute atmosphere with great wait staff – this just makes it all that much better.

Tuesday night dinner deal

Forget raindrops on roses, our favorite things are more along the lines of prix fixe meals and wine deals.  So I really felt like running through the hills and singing when I heard about this new dinner deal in our neighborhood that combines these 2 favorite things.

Starting this month and running through September, Cube on La Brea is hosting Lasagna Lab Tuesdays, every week from 6p – close.  Cube is a cute Italian cafe and market on La Brea near Melrose;  the ingredients are fresh from the Farmers Market and their menu is constantly changing.  They have an extensive cheese collection and amazing imported food items.

Their Tuesday night lasagna deal includes a salad + lasagna + wine pairing all for $20!  The lasagna each week is a new creation brought you by Chef Erin Eastland and the salads are not your usual mixed greens, they are gourmet salads based on the fresh market ingredients of the week.  To give you an idea of the menu, the first week of Lasagna lab featured White Lasagna with Fatted Calf Duck Sausage, Fava Tendrils & Pecorino and Spring Greens with Avocado, Strawberries, Marcona Almonds & Lemon Vinaigrette.  For your wine pairing, you can choose from 1 of 2 selected regional Italian wines.

You can make reservations for up to 8 people and they also have a private dining room that can hold up to 12 people,  there isn’t a whole lot of seating at Cube so reservations are recommended.

New Taco Tuesday!

***As of 10/2011 This Restaurant Has Closed ***

have posted before on some great Taco Tuesday specials around town and here is a brand new one to add to the list, Casa in downtown LA.

Casa is a swanky Mexican restaurant downtown located near Bunker Hill.  They launched their Taco Tuesdays last week and each week will feature $2 tacos and a $4 tequila tasting (the menu varies each week).  Tacos included are: Pollo Negro, Taco de Carne Asada Y Papas, Taco Al Pastor or Taco de Pescado Borrachos (all sound delicious, though I would go for the drunk fish taco I think).

In addition to this Tuesday night deal, Casa has Happy Hour specials daily from 3:30-6:30pm (if you can manage to get there by 6:30 that is!) with  $5-$8 food specials and for drinks: $3 – $4 beers, $5 well drinks, $15 pitchers of margaritas and $16 pitchers of Sangria.

And Wednesdays at Casa are Wine Down Wednesdays, where you can grab a bottle of wine with friends for $25.

So seems like a good spot to head any day of the week if you are looking for a new happy hour option.

Deals Found at the Foundry!

I’ll admit – we’ve never been to the Foundry. We’ve heard great things about the food there but its always been slightly out of our budgets.  However, after a quick look at their website today I believe we will be making our first visit there this Sunday.

What: Suds and Song Sundays @ The Foundry on Melrose
When: Sundays, 8:30pm – 11pm (in the Lounge)
The Low Down: $2 Featured Beers + Live Music

The Foundry also has a few other great deals early in the week (And an extra special DineLA menu):

Mondays: Lunes Latinos
Latin inspired cocktails, Greenspan’s Gorditas (3 kinds / $3 each), and Latin Jazz
8:30pm – 11:30pm every Monday (in the Lounge)

Tuesdays: Bluesy Tuesdays
Listen to the Blues while eating up Chef Greenspan’s take on Southern food – fried chicken (priced by the piece) and waffles ($4), sides of creamed corn, grits, and greens($5), Green Tomatoes ($5), Corn bread pudding ($7).
8:00pm -10:00pm every Tuesday (in the Lounge)

While other restaurants are offering three courses for a set price for DineLA Week, The Foundry is upping the ante to offer four (4!!) courses for the same $44/per person price. The menu includes items like White Gazpacho, Beef Tenderloin, Duck Breast, and a Blood Orange Bar for Dessert (I want I want I want!)

As you know from our detailed love for the Windows Lounge at the Four Seasons – we love any place with live classy music*. A place with live swanky music and drink specials = True Love.

*Note: a DJ is not ‘live music’ by any stretch of the imagination… and though we really love 80’s cover bands (one of us has even dreamed of having Fast Times play at our wedding…) these just don’t fit in this classy equation for love.

Hope to see you at the Foundry this Sunday!!
