Bottomless Mimosa Guide: The Independence

Warning: this brunch spot has great service and refills your mimosa glass a lot. And its next to a mall. Which, depending on your proclivity for shopping, might end in a much more expensive day than anticipated.

Bottomless Mimosa Guide: Ox & Son

We love when we get to share a spot AFTER we’ve actually tried it (really – we’re tipsters, not reviewers). And awesomely, V was generous enough to stop by this new Santa Monica brunch option last weekend & report back the boozy details (or at least those she remembers….)

Bottomless Mimosa Guide: Tacoteca

We, along with the rest of the white girls and bros, have been on a year-long Rose kick. Its quite the perfect wine for California’s year-long dry+warm climate; more interesting than a chilled white, more weather appropriate than a warm red… When TJs starts stocking their 5.99 stuff you know we’ll be the first to stock up…  Today’s addition to the #BottomlessMimosa guide is very on point with the rose trend, offering AYCD rose during brunch.

Bottomless Mimosa Guide: Manchego

Manchego is one of my top 3 cheeses. Its flippin’ delicious. So I can only assume this restaurant ,that bears the name of such a fantastic cheese, is also flippin’ delicious. And if its not, at least a nice haze from bottomless mimosas will skew your food perception 😉

Bottomless Mimosa Guide: The Misfit

2015 Update: #bottomlessmimsoas no longer offered. But they do have Sangria for $3.50!

Since we are blessed to live in a town where Summer lasts well into Fall, there’s no place better to brunch (or booze) than by the beach.  There are plenty of spots in Santa Monica that let the champagne flow freely every weekend and here is just another one to add to your list: The Misfit.

I am a fan of most LGO (or now LEYE for some? what’s the deal with these 2 groups, someone please explain) spots, having recently falled in love with Stella Rossa; and, with it’s happy hour and bottomless mimosa specials, I can bet that I’ll love The Misfit too.  Brunch runs every Saturday and Sunday from noon-4pm. The brunch menu is small – only 6 items – but really do you need many more options than that? Choose from a prosciutto and eggs plates, pancakes, chilaquiles, an egg white omelet, huevos rancheros (that are only described as “guaranteed to please”), and a housemade english muffin.

The booze: bottomless mimosas with your meal for $12.

The Misfit is literally 2 blocks from the beach, and 2 blocks away from SM Place – load up on mimosas and keep it going with a beachside bike bar crawl or head to the mall to partake in one of our very favorite activities – drunk shopping.

2012: Restaurant has since closed. Sad. No more cheap dim sum and booze in Santa Monica…

For info on our latest venue obsession for eating & drinking without breaking the bank, hop on over to WeWitItLA to see our guest post on Xino in Santa Monica. We have been here a few times and keep finding reasons to love it even more. Happy Hour? Check. Late Night Happy Hour? Check. Bottomless Mimosas (oh yes!) CHECK. Plus add in a fantastic outdoor patio, sexy lounges for getting buzzed and cuddly, and the opportunity to drunk shop? Really its the mack-daddy of all things Finer. And yes, I just said mack-daddy.

(By the way, for some really entertaining reading on drunk shopping, check out this month’s Lucky Mag article. Is it just me or is the writer actually trying to make an ‘issue’ out of drunk shopping? Seriously??? Well, regardless of their intention, the article is awesome, as is drunk shopping.)

Hangover Brunch: West 4th / Jane

I feel like all my hangover brunch posts start the same way, some words about brunching in moderation with cheap mimosas rather than unlimited mimosas, followed by mentioning just how much I love things like French toast, waffles and especially Nutella.

Well, I’m on vacation today and will spare you the normal spiel, and cut right to the chase – if you wake up this Sunday, hungry and in search of some bubbly deals, head to West 4th and Jane.

Every Sunday, starting at noon and running all the way to midnight, W4J is serving up $5 mimosas – or $5 house champagne for all you bubbly purists. If you’re a real breakfast-type, you might want to grab food beforehand because the menu here is definitely more lunch/dinner friendly. A “gastropub” menu that includes a burger topped with crispy onions and BBQ mac ‘n cheese. Drool.

AND, every Sunday, also starting at noon, W4J Has their Sunday BBQ where you can dig in on ribs, smoked tri tip and more. I would suggest wearing your stretchy pants, it’s probably going to shape into one very drunk+fat Sunday!

Bottomless Mimosa Guide: Sonoma Wine Garden

Update for 2015: Our reader, Sarah, gave us the heads up that bottomless brunch is now $35. And if you want Bloody Marys, it’ll cost another $5.

This week’s weather has been perfect. Literally.  Spring and Summer in LA are made for outdoor eating and boozing.  With it’s outdoor patio, and located only a block away from the ocean, we are excited to add Sonoma Wine Garden to our ever growing list of boozy brunch spots around town.  It is the perfect spot for some sunny Sunday brunching!

Here’s the deal – brunch at Sonoma Wine Garden runs every Saturday and Sunday from 11:00a-2:30p.  They have their regular a la carte brunch items for all the responsible people of the world, but for us cool kids, pay just $25 a person to opt into their Champagne Brunch.  Included in the price you get your choice of one of six entrees from their brunch menu: the sunny side up eggs, the french toast, eggs benedict, the garden fritatta, the kaiserschmarm, or the chicken ceaser salad.  I’m going with the kaiserschmarm based on name alone.

Plus, the best part, your choice of bottomless booze.  And it’s not just your average mimosa.  You get your pick of unlimited mimosas, bellinis, or build your own bloody marys.   There are also a few other champagne cocktails that you can pick from, like an Austrian Mimosa, which is processo with elderflower, YUM.

A pretty great deal in an amazing location, you can walk to the beach after brunch or partake in some drunken shopping (a favorite hobby of K and I) at SM Place.

Bottomless Mimosa Guide: Fig @ The Fairmont

Ok, so technically there are no bottomless mimosas in this post but there it does involve a brunch with a form of bottomless booze.   I think that’s acceptable, and if you disagree, we don’t care.  And if you were looking for mimosas, don’t worry, we have by now given you about 30 other options in LA, which you can find through the link on the top right.

This week’s bottomless pick is Fig in Santa Monica. Fig is located within the Fairmont hotel, right by the ocean on Wilshire. It definitely has our stamp of approval since hotel boozing is one of our favorite hobbies (a close second to airport boozing).

Brunch runs every Sunday from 11a-2p.  And on to the good part: Kegs + Eggs.  With the purchase of any brunch entree, you can pair with bottomless beer (not mimosas) for $35 (total…so entree + beer = $35).  You don’t even necessarily have to have eggs, I think they just liked the way it sounded. Their brunch menu sounds pretty damn good and they even label their booze section on their menu as “booze”, which makes me love them more.  My brunch menu picks: the frittata with avocado-tomatillo salsa, bacon waffle a la mode (yes with ice cream…bacon ice cream… yum).

This weekend the weather is supposed to be amazing so Fig is a great place to head to, it is a gorgeous location right near the ocean.  Make ressies if you want or just walk in, usually busy with hotel guests and locals alike so if you do have a large group would definitely call ahead.

TGIF, enjoy the weekend. Fight on Trojans!
