Any place we can walk to-and-from to enjoy our bottomless boozing is going to top our must-try list. As such, when our summer travel dies down this will be our first stop on the Sunday (or Saturday!) Funday train.

Bottomless Mimosa Guide: The Roof on Wilshire

Update for 2014: This is probably my and V’s fault since we tend to try to find the bottom of the mimosa deal and love The Roof: but per their website they are no longer offering bottomless. Instead its $18 Carafes of Mimosas, which they say is about 6 mimosas.

The Roof on Wilshire just kind of snuck up on us – a swanky rooftop setting with a menu by Eric Greenspan (of The Foundry)?  How was this not all over every email in my inbox!  It’s like mid-city’s less douche-y/hipster-y version of DT’s The Standard – The Roof’s got a pool, cabanas, a tasty menu and a gorgeous view of the city.  Oh yeah, AND they have bottomless mimosas. We’re betting this will fast become our sunny day brunching go-to spot.

Bottomless Mimosa Guide: The Churchill

April 2015: Per our reader Britt, The Churchill no longer serves bottomless mimosas. Bummer.

K and I haven’t been able to barely go a day this week without hearing about The Churchill, opening up today on 3rd Street.  And, after driving by a few times, I can already tell that we’re going to love this place – (1) It’s operated by the same people as one of our other faves (The Hudson), (2) it’s pretty walkable (i.e. bring on the booze, no DD needed here!) from our apartments (3) they’re going to have regular and late night happy hours daily, and most importantly, (4) they’ll be serving up quite the selection of bottomless cocktails during brunch every weekend.

Get in on the opening weekend fun and make The Churchill your brunching destination this weekend.  Brunch runs Sundays and for your beverage you’ll get bottomless mimosas for $18. For those that don’t want to go bottomless, there is also a selection of delicious bfast cocktails like Micheladas for around $6 a pop.

We’re not one hundred percent sure what the menu holds, our googling skills only got us so far, but the picture we found above of their eggs benny is enough to make us drool.

To add even more fun to your boozy brunch, The Churchill’s also got a vintage photo booth and will have a DJ spinning – I mean, seriously, this place might be our new home.

Hangover Brunch: The Fat Dog

Now that I’ve gotten a certain awful standardized test out of the way (starts with G, ends with……MAT), I am free to return to my weekends of boozing and leisurely sipping on mimosas during brunch.  Ok, we all know I should probably replace leisurely with aggressively.  Tomato, tom-ah-to.  So, without further adieu, on to this week’s hangover brunch pick: The Fat Dog.

K and I have been wanting to check out the Fat Dog for a bit now, we are constantly driving by since it’s so close to our apartments.   It was going to be our happy hour destination this week until we discovered their HH ends at 6pm (really, Fat Dog, 6?!..sigh), but now we have another reason to head there: brunch.

Brunch at Fat Dog runs every Saturday and Sunday from 10am-2pm. Their brunch menu looks pretty tasty, with most items hovering around $10-$12.  My picks: brioche french toast with carmelized bananas and nutella (obviously), fried egg panini with bacon and swiss, and the chop salad is sounding pretty good to me right now too.

The best part – all brunch cocktails are $5!  That means $5 mimosas, $5 bloody marys, $5 bloody beers (corona + lime + homemade bloody mary mix), $5 coffee karlsson (cointreau + baileys + whip), and $5 champear (bubbly + pear brandy).   That Champear sounds so delightful.

Bottomless Mimosa Guide: Marco’s

**2016 Update: Bottomless Mimosas are now $13 a head, $11 for bottomless champagne, and a minimum food purchase of $10 is required.***

TGIF!!! The first Friday of February, you know what that means. Yes, it’s First Fridays in Venice but it is also time for a new addition to the bottomless mimosa guide.   This month’s pick is Marco’s.  Marco’s just announced their new revamped breakfast menu and we couldn’t be happier that they decided to include bottomless booze with their brunch, especially since they are just a hop, skip, and a jump away from our apartments.

Brunching Spot: Marco’s, West Hollywood

Boozy Brunching Hours:  Breakfast at Marco’s is from 9am-2pm on weekdays and from 8am-2pm on the weekends.  Yes, you can get sauced up on bubbly during the week if you really want, how great is that?!

Menu Highlights: Another plus, their breakfast menu is all under $12 with most dishes hovering right around $8-$9.  There is one item on the menu I definitely have my eye on, the rice krispies french toast with strawberries ($8), it sounds like something I once dreamed of as a child.  You will find everything from omelettes to breakfast burritos to crepes on their menu, a little something for everyone. Check out Marco’s full breakfast menu here

Bottomless Mimosa Deal: The most important detail, bottomless mimosas will run you only $12/person and if you don’t need the OJ, you can get bottomless champagne for just $6/person.   They have other specialty champagne cocktails for $5 (not bottomless), and $5 glasses (or $18 pitchers) of sangria.  I think we have found our new favorite local breakfast stop.

.

PS: They also have an amazingly cheap happy hour menu during the week from 3-6pm which features $3 beer, $4 wine and tasty snacks (truffle/herb/parmesan fries, parmesan buttermilk chicken skewers, fig/carmelized onion/bleu cheese crostini…) ranging between $3-$5.  AND, if you work in the area they have an $8.95 lunch special as well.  Could this place get any better? We think not.
