Bottomless Mimosa Guide: AREAL

***5/1/15 UPDATE: Areal will now be offering #BottomlessMimosas during lunch DAILY! More details to come…***

Long ago, this spot was the home to World Cafe, and we celebrated V’s bday there for a very boozy  brunch. We probably spent a good three hours consuming the glorious orange bubbly beverage, and as a result members of our party believed they could speak Japanese (they couldn’t; sounded racist), created fictitious personalities (Havannah Pete!), and got lost wandering home. So we were sad when the spot closed, even sadder when we learned its replacement AREAL wouldn’t be offering the same deal.

Long story short: we’re now very happy to announce AREAL has joined the bottomless booze-fest train.

Brunching Spot: AREAL, Santa Monica

Boozy Brunch Hours: Sundays, starting at 10:00am

Bottomless Mimosa Deal: $15 Bottomless Mimosas for 2-hours

Menu Highlights: Mimosas. And the Grilled Pomegranate Molasses Marinated Steak. Way heavier than our normal brunch choice but sweet and tangy red-meat sounds delicious right now.

Bottomless Mimosa Guide: Gaucho Grill

TGIF! This week I have a brand spanking new bottomless mimosa option – they just began this feature last weekend (Aug 1).  How on top of things are we!  I actually spotted this driving back from my cousin’s graduation party last weekend and almost caused a traffic accident as my eye caught the banner announcing bottomless mimosa brunch.

The place: Gaucho Grill in Brentwood.  I have always loved Gaucho Grill – who doesn’t love Argentinian-style grilled meat? (Which is why I also love Bossa Nova – Brazilian, I know..same diff, and Lala’s).  And I also love the Brentwood Country Mart area, perfect for a celeb (Ben Affleck) sighting.  So I was definitely excited to see the banner for brunch last weekend and can’t wait to try it out.

Sunday Brunch at Gaucho Grill runs from 10a-3p.    The menu has some brunch basics (omlettes, french toast) and of course some Argentinian fare (tortilla de papa, grilled tenderloin or chicken paninis, eggs + grilled skirt steak), and overall sounds delicious. The full brunch menu can be found on their FB page. Food is priced really well, nothing over $12 and the best part of course: bottomless mimosas OR sangria (yum!) for only $5!!

Definitely want to try this brunch soon but as for this weekend K and I are both headed out of LA so will have to seek out mimosa options elsewhere!

Bottomless Mimosa Guide: Whiskey Reds

April 2015: Per our reader Cosme, this brunch is now $32.95/pp

TGIF, another Friday and another bottomless mimosa post.  Isn’t anyone going to give me some kind of recognition for finding this many bottomless spots??  When I first started this feature, I really didn’t think it would be able to last this long so I think an award is warranted for providing you with boozy brunch options week after week.  Anyways, you’re welcome.

This week’s brunch spot is another one in Marina del Rey: Shanghai Whiskey Reds. Not too far from us Weho and Westsiders and a perfect location to enjoy some outdoor summertime drinking.  Not to mention, pretty easy on the wallet.

Shanghai Whiskey Red’s is right on the water, with amazing views, and has brunch on Saturdays 10am – 3pm, & Sundays from 9a-3p weekly.  I would say 9 AM is a pretty bold starting time but I like their style. If you do manage to get there before 9:30 you are rewarded for your raging alcoholism and get $5 off your brunch. Brunch is $33 Saturdays and $36 on Sundays per person and $13 for children up to age 13….which I might be able to pass for considering I was the only one at our table that got carded last night. Twice.

Their brunch is all you can drink and all you can eat – a winning combo in our books.  Brunch buffet features the usual suspects: bacon, eggs, eggs benedict, an omlette station (ooh la la), chicken/beef/seafood entrees, veggies, potatoes,  and a fresh seafood bar.

Grab a table on the patio and enjoy views of the marina, booze it up and rent a boat afterwards, do whatever your little heart desires and make it a great Sunday Funday.
