We created a book-club recently and named it Literary Lushes. It’s awesome. We all love books, we all love wine.
As a group we’re always looking for spots to dine + discuss the book, where we can bring our own vino for cheap or free. So this list was created out of a personal need, but we hope you enjoy it as well.
If you know of spots missing from the list, please let us know and we’ll get them added.
*Note: for our most up-to-date list please check the top menu button titled FREE CORKAGE.
This last weekend we told ourselves ‘no bottomless mimosas’. Blasphemous, we know, but we needed a calm weekend and self restraint is a problem when the orange bubbly flows like the mighty Niagara. So we went to Dark Room.
Turns out Dark Room sells $12 bottles of bubbly + $5 carafes of OJ…. And thus debauchery quickly set in.
So much for a calm weekend.
Hangover Brunch Spot: The Darkroom on Melrose
Boozy Brunching Hours: No clue, but they kept serving us bottles of bubbly the duration of our visit (12:30-4:30 or so…) on a Sunday.
Boozy Brunch Deal: $12 Bottles of Bubbly + $5 Carafes of OJ (One carafe is enough for 2 bottles of bubbs.) $9 Bloody Mary Bar.
Menu Highlights: There wasn’t any brunchy food but the chili cheese tater tots were flippin fantastic. Fried chicken sandwich was also pretty good (though heavy on the mustard.)
Author’s Note: Its a 49er bar. Watch out: Lots of obnoxious fans were there heckling us like crazy, and there wasn’t even a Niner game on that day. Following in the classy footsteps of their coach I suppose…

That baked egg dish in the below photo looks bomb.
(Do kids still say ‘bomb’ anymore?)
The Spot: Local Table, Downtown LA
Boozy Brunch Hours: Saturday, 9am – 3pm
We have a amazing friend getting hitched this weekend in Del Mar, so we wanted to share a great spot to get boozy brunch down in her neck of the woods. Plus, this place doubles as a wine shop – so you can grab a bottle for the road for later Sunday-Funday drinking debauchery.

Feel like getting boozy before a movie? Tanzy is right next door to that fancy-pants new iPic theater, and offers bottomless boozy brunch on both Saturday & Sunday!
The Spot: Tanzy, Westwood
Boozy Brunch Hours: Sat & Sun, 11am – 3pm
Bottomless Mimosa Deal: $14 Bottomless Strawberry Mimosas
Menu Highlights: Bombolina are topping our list here- which apparently are crispy Italian donuts and come with a variety of fillings and dipping sauces like Pink Lady Apple or Bittersweet Chocolate Rice Pudding. We also love the sound of Chicken+Sourdough Waffles, and a classic Corned Beef Hash. Lunchy items include various raw bar selections, salads, and heartier Italian style entrees like pasta or salmon.

Having just returned from Nawlins, we’re currently obsessed with Jazz Brunches. Which is wonderful timing, as Vitello’s has just re-upped it’s Fall Brunch Jazz Series. Music + Mimosas + Eggies is a great way to spend a lazy and hazy Saturday or Sunday.
The Spot: Vitello’s, Studio City
Boozy Brunch Hours: Saturday & Sunday, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Bottomless Mimosa Deal: $14 Bottomless OJ+Champy
Menu Highlights: A good mix of both breakfast and lunch items, as any good brunch should be. The menu is rather large, but our picks for breakfast: Baked Eggs Italiano, Huevos Rancheros Stack, and Heirloom Bennie all sound great. For lunch: Tuna Melt FTW.
Vitello’s / 4349 Tujunga Ave, Studio City CA / (818) 769-0905 / http://www.vitellosjazz.com/
3rd stop used to be our go-to happy hour post college. They had beer and they had hotchix (boneless wings that were close to godliness.) When the hotchix were nixed from the menu, we stopped going.
But feeling a bit like old-ladies these days, out of nostalgia, we stopped by 3rd stop last weekend…. and guess what?… they serve bottomless mimosas now!
The Spot: The 3rd Stop, Mid City West
Boozy Brunch Hours: Sat & Sun, 11:30am – 3pm
Bottomless Mimosa Deal: $15 Bottomless Mimosas
Menu Highlights: Sadly no brunch here, really just lunch. But on our visit last weekend we really really liked the spicy Hawaiian pizza and the Hoagie wasn’t bad either. The silver lining of the no-breakfast food set up is 3rd stop is totally empty when they open, so if you show up between 11:30 – 12:30pm you can easily grab a table. Our giant party of 11 was easily and quickly seated and had our drinks constantly refilled for a good 3 hours. It was glorious (and later disasterous- but that wasn’t until we left 3rd stop.)
